The image of the silver fern is widely representative of New Zealand and New Zealanders. It is an image to which all New Zealanders relate and is a powerful and emotional symbol of inspiration at times when it matters. The symbol comes from the leaf of the New Zealand fern - Cyathea Dealbata (Ponga is the Maori name). The leaves are dark green on the upper side and silver underneath. The underside glows brightly in moonlight providing excellent track markers in New Zealand's native forests. It was often used by Maori as bedding for sleeping on due to the thin texture of the 'hairs'. The symbol of the silver fern is widely used in sport which, given New Zealand's passion for and commitment to sport, is understandabl

The same lotus
Now Just The Lotus In desperation to recollect, What is now a vague and faint Image of yours, with this, the Same flowers at the same place. Right at this moments, they all remain As they used to be, in the like But it bleeds to know, Only you're not, and not here anymore. How silly, never walked with you in this place Any chance I do have, if not in fantasy though. Only I know you like lotus, and I prayed that By chance that pretty flowers will Bring you back some how, to this very place then I can have a glimpse of you, but... Now just the lotus, that very lotus And only that lotus remains, and that's all. Edwin Leung 荷花依舊，人面全非。

This One's For You
The Lotus are now blooming here in Auckland adding much colors to our summer here. One That's For You Emerged through mud, yet so pure and elegant, While each lotus on its own stem: That’s chaste with one heart and a single soul. It stands tall in the wind, remains head up high Never succumb when life permits, and Defies all adverse elements, like an iron lady. But underneath these virtues I love to find Something that of the feminine side: Like a shy little girl who flushes with a rosy cheek, With such softness and tenderness, Standing there waiting for my warm embraces. Edwin Leung
Wither In The Wind
The beautiful lotus will soon wither in the wind and what's left are nothing but dried pod carrying the seeds. Wither In The Wind Things of beauty won't last, and they do Perish and be forgotten. Behold the lotus flowers there: People at their prime stop Momentarily admiring, worshiping Them, like the moon amongst stars. Now They wither in the wind as Smokes shimmering to the sky, and Who else still remember, Their glory and pride of yesterday. So like the lotus at its prime We have our beautiful days, Let's rather sing and rejoice, Before the moment slips away, Than brood on it resounding memories. Edwin Leung
We can survive
We Can Survive Snow can bury the mountains, Whiten all landscapes Chilling every corners Hibernating growth But it can't stop us living our lives. We make our ways through These adverse weathers And from the dark we leap Back again into the sun Where we find once again The blessing of warmth and delight. However, the essence is Snow can't stop us But if we choose to Regrettably, we'll lose our lives. Edwin Leung During my visit to the mountains of Minya Konka, a frog came out from a hole in the snow and jumping its way towards a plant with red leaves. The coldness and environment could be harsh, but did manage to survive.
The lotus has already passed its prime, before long, its colors will fade, and petals fall off. It's a pattern of life with no exception.
