Town Hall Organ

Auckland Town Hall is a prominent civic landmark of neo-Baroque style. Taking pride of place on Queen Street in Auckland’s CBD, it was specifically designed by Melbourne architects JJ and EJ Clark to fit the wedge-shaped piece of land acquired for it. Protected as a Category A heritage building, it was opened in 1911 by Baron Islington, New Zealand’s Governor General at the time. From 1994-1997 the building was fully restored, allowing the addition of modern amenities and re-establishing the building’s standing as a multi-functional venue and world class performance hall.Housed in the Hall, the Auckland Town Hall Organ also dates from 1911 and is the largest musical instrument in New Zealand.

You Amongst The Flock

You Amongst The Flock You are just another in the sky, Of the same feathers and similar sight. Why you, I spotted from the crowds, It’s something I didn’t know why. May be we once flew enough close, By chance or by luck. Well, Your gracious manoeuvrings did Bewilder and touch my troubled soul. We flew together towards the same light, Same way, the same momentum in life. We’re enjoying the world together by then And felt delighted with the flight. When the dark curtains descended with the setting sun, We retired to the spots where the flocks lied I looked around to find you, wistfully For another glimpse but sadly I got none. Edwin Leung

Another Monument in Life

Another Monument In Life We strode on the meadow and we're in the breeze, We lifted our heads and watched the changing clouds, Turning to crimson from a lack lustre grey. You Was so amused by the sight when the last light still prevailed. You looked into the reddish pink sky with such an ecstasy That joy gently oozed from your gentle lips. I however glazed at a different view: A face graciously and amorously tinted as such. We came to the monument, a memory of something, That matters no more. For now I took it as another Monument in life, the moment Together, the first time we walked. Edwin Leung The Savage Memorial Park in Auckland of New Zealand
